The Freedom of Homeownership

celebrate the freedom of homeownership with habitat for humanity of chester county

This July 2023, we celebrate our nation's Independence, the United States of America. American citizens’ access to jobs, a healthy economy, a safe place to raise a family, and access to health care and nutrition portray this independence. In this country, our citizens are made to feel safe, accepted, and able to attain vast opportunities.

This sense of financial independence and a safe place to live is not a reality for all Americans. As we celebrate our country's independence, we recognize and reinforce that our mission allows many families to find independence through homeownership. At Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, we do our part to achieve global access to affordable housing and freedom for all. Through our housing program in Chester County, deserving families are given an equal opportunity to succeed.

Chester County Homeownership

chester county homeowners through habitat for humanity

Many families in our Chester County, Pennsylvania community face costly living conditions, which affect employment, family life, nutrition, and well-being. Here at Habitat for Humanity, we want to break this daunting cycle of living expenses. Our housing program provides families in the community a hand-up to succeed.

Our housing program partners with volunteers, donors, and the entire Chester County community to build simple, affordable homes for families in need. Habitat homes are not free; partnering families are responsible for paying a mortgage for their homes in addition to completing “sweat equity” hours on the construction site.

Through achieving affordable homeownership with our program, families are relieved of this financial burden and can further achieve independence in all aspects of life. When the stress of housing costs is relieved, there is more room for growth in employment, education, family time, community service, supporting the economy, and more. The positive impact is endless.

Families in our community appreciate your support in achieving their goal of affordable housing. Thanks to your kind donations, participation in fundraisers, volunteering, and more, families can make lasting memories in a safe place they can call home.
