On September 29 and 30, Hearne Hardwoods, Inc., a specialty lumberyard in Oxford, held their annual Open House event. For the past several years, the Hearne family has selected Habitat as the recipient of the funds from their raffles and wood auction held during the Open House. This year’s event alone raised over $4,700 for the construction of affordable housing in our community. As to why they continue to choose Habitat as the beneficiary of this event, Hearne Hardwood’s owner, Rick Hearne, says:
“In a world beset with so many humanitarian crises, it is difficult to decide who needs our help the most. We at Hearne Hardwoods Inc. give first to our local charities and in particular Habitat For Humanity of Chester County. Having a healthy local community gives us a stronger core to reach out into other parts of the world to share some love.”
We are so grateful for the Hearne family’s continued support of empowering Chester County families through building decent, affordable shelter!
